Berom youths demands prosecution of killers of 10 motorists By Samuel Gabkwet, Jos

A socio-cultural group, The Berom Youths Molders Association (BYM) has called on the Federal Government to ensure suspected terrorists arrested over the killing of travelers on the highways along Barkin Ladi road Jos are prosecuted.

According to the association, at least, 10 travelers were attacked and killed on the highway by some unknown gunmen last week in Bisichi, Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state.

They alleged that some Fulani headsmen suspected to have carried out the attacks on the highway were arrested by men of the Special Task Force (STF) 'operation safe haven'

President of the group, Choji Chuwang Dalyop and Publicity Secretary, Davou Gyang Jatau in a Press Statement issued to Journalists in Jos yesterday said, "some mercenaries were apprehended in Barkin-Ladi by members of the STF sector '7' in connection with the attack.

The statement lamented that the STF have not disclosed the whereabout of the suspected terrorists group and warned that any attempt to allow them go scot free will attract serious protest across the state.

"We need justice to achieve permanent peace in the localities"

Dalyop noted that "while we commend members of the STF for this laudable feat, we wish to caution against any attempt to release these culprits without the law taking it full course on them, and any attempt in that regard shall be vehemently resisted within the ambit of the law"

The statement noted that, "Recently, 30 Berom Villages were razed down completely, over eight hundred inhabitants of these villages killed among them are school Principals, Senior Civil Servants, farmers, traders, students, Artisans who were ambushed in diverse locations while going about with their legitimate duties and over 500 inhabitants rendered homeless by the Fulani militias.

"We wish to emphatically draw the Federal and Plateau State Government's attention to these callous activities of these militias which has over the years truncated the peace and serenity of Barkin-Ladi and Parts of Jos South LGA without concerted efforts by the security outfits to thwarts the persistent annihilation of the Berom Nation by the heavily armed terrorist."

Tenant Kills 85-Yr-Old Landlady After Disagreement Over N9k

A tenant simply identified as Abdullahi, has been arrested by the police in Ogun state for allegedly killing his 85-year-old landlady, Mrs Raliat Olasupo.
