Email Print Police arrests three during initiation of 35 students
State police Command have arrested no fewer than three persons over their role in initiating 35 students of various tertiary institutions in the state into cultism.
According to the police command, the suspects were arrested at Ogbese forest in Ovia North East Local Government and their names were given as Kingsley Nwachukwu, Amoo Oboba and Innocent Essien.
It was learnt that 15 of the students were from a particular tertiary institution in the state and that they were said to have specialized to moving from state to state to initiate students into cultism.
Edo police spokesman, DSP Stephen Onwochei, said a locally made revolver pistol and three live cartridges were recovered from a car belonging to the suspects.
DSP Onwochei said the police would investigate cult related activities and armed robbery because of the high rate of armed robbery in the area.
He said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
