Kebbi First Lady started advocacy on cleaner environment

Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Aishatu Atiku Bagudu has urged women in the state to imbibe the need to always maintain a clean environment in view of their role as mothers in the family.
At an interactive session with wives of members of the state House of Assembly in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, she stated that the call was in line with the recent operation “Keep Kebbi Clean” campaign she carried out.
The occasion also had in attendance the wives of the 21 local Governments Directors of Personnel in the state.
She explained that there is need to spread the campaign to ‘Keep Kebbi State Clean’ especially the state capital Birnin Kebbi, saying her decision to meet the women so that they will embark on similar exercise to keep their respective locations clean.
“You know that health is wealth and the health of our environment is the health of our family because if we fail to clean our surroundings at home, we may be prone to all sort of diseases especially malaria." she said.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Rafaatu Garba Hammani in her speech at the occasion advised women to always burn their refuse and not to litter the environment with waste and other elements detrimental to the environments.
