Troops Clear More Terrorist Camps In Borno

Nigerian troops are continuing their offensive operations against the Boko Haram terrorists in the northeastern part of the country.

On August 21, Friday, troops of 7 Brigade reportedly entered Gudumbali town in Kukawa local government area of Borno state and cleared it of insurgents.

During the operation the troops also reclaimed land mines along Dikwa route, although they lost two soldiers and two others were seriously injured.

The Nation reports that an update on the renewed campaign against Boko Haram was provided by Colonel Sani Usman, the acting director of army public relations.

He said that troops from 7 Brigade and 5 Brigade had bloody encounters with the insurgents in Borno state.
